Sanders County Ag Day

Emily (Administrator for Eastern Sanders County Conservation District) and Sarah (Administrator for Green Mountain Conservation District) recently attended the first annual Ag Day for all third graders in Sanders County. They hosted a station about Pollinators. They taught the kids a little about Pollination and then quizzed them on how Pollination helps make their favorite foods. They then had them choose from 12 pictures all 8 of the Pollinator Species they would review. After the kids chose, they talked about the certain species and what specific colors they were attracted to. After that, they played a game where the students had to move like the Pollinator (buzz, flap their wings, crawl, etc…) to the specific color.

ESCD Supervisors, along with other volunteers, also helped prepare 200 cheeseburgers for lunch for all students, teachers, presenters, and volunteers! It was an amazing event, and we are happy to be involved with educating our youth about Agriculture.
