Clark Fork River Clean Up

Clark Fork River Clean Up

Two of the kayaks and the raft full of tires

On September 10th, 2022, two District Representatives along with 6 other volunteers conducted the Clark Fork River Clean Up Event. We were able to collect about 10 bags of trash, 30 tires, and a handful of other large items. We had three volunteers on kayaks hauling tires, and one pulling a raft full of tires behind their kayak.

The event was a huge success this year, and we plan on being back bigger and better next year. We are hopeful with more volunteers and resources that we will be able to clean the entire area of tires and other large debris.

Eastern Sanders County Conservation District wants to give a huge shoutout to our 8 volunteers: Don Feist, Emily Baker, Amy Elkins, Dillon Martini, Alana Johnson, Juli Thurston, Donna Maughlin, and Dottie Palmer.

We would also like to thank Republic Services for the donation of the dumpster, Plains Forest Service for bags and gloves, and the landowners in the area for letting us access their river banks.
